26 JUNE 2012 - The central government recently implemented a constructive welfare programme which allows people with disabilities return to work, and practise self-reliance.
PM said that people with disabilities should not be neglected; all they need are opportunities to perform in order to live with dignity.
Regarding this issue, project 1AZAM, implemented by the government, is to help the people with disabilities by providing skills training, employment opportunities as well as help in starting a business.
PM added that 1Malaysia concept is not only to fairly treat people from different ethnic groups, but also to equally treat people with different gender and disabilities.
